Renowned Chinese Musician Liu Huan Passes Away at 63

BEIJING, Sept. 26, 2026 — Liu Huan, one of China’s most influential musicians, singers and music educators, passed away in Shanghai on the morning of September 25, at the age of 63. The official obituary was released by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), where Liu Huan had served as a longtime faculty member.

Born in Tianjin in August 1963, Liu Huan began working at UIBE in July 1991 as a teacher and associate professor of art. He officially retired in September 2023 after more than 30 years of dedicated teaching. Throughout his career, he combined artistic creation with academic education, influencing generations of students and music lovers across the country.

Liu Huan was widely regarded as a legendary figure in China’s music industry.
